Another go with the dwarfs. This one is close to the description of Thorin. I was reading the part where they're toiling through the Mirkwood so thought to draw him all bent over. This was dashed out before work. Got to color him next.
Oh, Max! I can always count on you! If I really want to push this, I have to design twelve of these guys. Couldn't Tolkien have written about Thorin, the lone dwarf of the Lonely Mountain?
Hey, just be glad he didn't go with Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Happy, Bashful, Dopey, and Doc! . . . the way they did in the original Njorl's Saga (" ... and didde a myghty cry of 'Hi-Ho' ring outte acrosse the lande....")
Diggin' the dwarfs! Very cool visual style, not what I'd expect but somehow very appropriate.
