Finally, back to the comic. I think I'm about 20 pages from the end. Now I just have to bust ass and get it done. The next four are the turning point of the story. Let's hope it has impact when it's all done.
e is Hand (yes rub on) lettering the whole thing as well! I understand him watercoloring it all... he's a genius with water colors but hand lettering is too much. He is in his 70's... I hope he lives long enough to finish it!
Gah, those rub on letters! Lettreset, I think... I used to use those for all the Picnic flyers, gift certificates and such. They're such a pain! This guy sounds like John Garcia, if you remember him; making western stories for himself, also watercolored. Poor John died a few years ago.
You and I both on those damn flyers! Where were computers when we needed them most?
I had no idea John died. I remember him well. He was such a great guy and good artist, despite his love of westerns, which I hate. I'm sad to hear he's gone.
Thanks, dood! That was deliberate. Color is half of Tamino. While Fite taught me a lot about comics in general, I like to think Tamino taught me a lot about color. I hope. :"D
making progress! I have a friend who has been making a comic book for years now, 1500 drawings so far. You are doing pretty well getting this done!
ReplyDeleteGads, 1500 is quite a lot! Tamino is only up to 128 pages at this point and is likely going to be about 150 in total. Thanks, Vince!

So subtle, that shift from a cool background/warm figure to cool figure/warm background, yet when you get to that past panel, POW.

ReplyDeleteI'd say the answer is "yes", sir, your use of color is growing by leaps and bounds. Ditto with composition.
