That concave belly is an excellent touch. Little things like that can be the cement that holds an image together. (It pops you out of the reality to have a snarling dog with happy ears.)
The mouth is so very UPI. ;) I'm grabbing my rabbit ears and tuning in to Channel 56 right this minute!
UPA is a definite influence as is early HB stuff. It's a fun playground, though it doesn't really count as 'work.' I mean, this isn't stuff that pays the bills or ever will, but so what? :"D Thanks!
56 was my childhood UHF station. I think it's now the UC, or whatever that new merger-network is. Sad.
It may not be work, as such, but you're clearly learning. You've gained confidence in your linework, for one thing. Those heavy lines feel like they're working with the design rather than locking the figure down (it's tricky, them heavy lines). Your figures in general have an increased sense of life and energy.
Some things don't have to change, even if it means they stay trapped in our heads. :D You're bringing 56 back to life!
