A few updates from the last few days. Continuing on with yet another version of the rabbits, one which gives, to me, a more current day animation cartoon-show feel. The other's a monkey illo that I threw out because he was getting some attention on Tumblr. It's my favorite of the bunch so far. My work is becoming, I think more commercial which is fine. That's the experimental side of Delve Deep to me, trying to make something actually marketable. I've played with form and image in my other comics, I've pushed a lot of boundaries. While to most, making something commercial might be the first step or even the day job, to me it's something I struggle with and therefore it's more of a challenge than making something odd or visually 'challenging.' This isn't any kind of value judgement as I don't think one is inherently better than the other. There's a fine art to making something iconic, simple and loved. And again, I'm not getting any younger. If I'm going to make anything from my art, it has to be damned soon. So, these.

I commented a few days ago but it never showed up! I love the lintless look of the top one. Especially how the paper jumps out of the page with your signature on it.

Thanks, Vince! The paper was an afterthought, mostly as I was tired of just signing things in the same place in the same way all the time.
