Portrait of my dear friend Max for his birthday. It's really cool doing portraits of friends as you get to stare at their faces for hours and rediscover things about them. I find that the closer the friend, the less I look at them in person as I think I know what they look like.

It's my day to comment on your blog apparently.
I agree, I took some portrait pictures of someone I had known since he was in his 20's (he was in his 40's when i took the photos) and I did not realize that he aged and even weirder, how handsome and masculine he was... I always thought of him as how I first saw him, as basically a boy, even though 20 years had passed.

I've been that way with people I haven't seen in years, too; utter surprise that they're not how I remember them. Silly, isn't it?

I know! How dare they change on us when we (only out of respect for them of course) stay exactly the same! :)
