A painting I'm working on. This is the second version. A friend suggested that I think about doing another layer on top of the line work, and perhaps even more after that, making it somewhat more a metaphor for the Photoshop approach to making images. In this case, there are some things that seem out of place, and I think the contrast is too low. So play with it I will. Why not? It's only my face.

Wow this linework is aces.
You have such good drawing chops.

The contrast is thin, yeah, as far as color goes. Maybe this is a "light" image? There are oodles of whites and off-whites to work with, dunno.

Funny, I never think I have drawing chops.. There are a lot of things about the drawing I think need fixing. Then again, that's nothing new. :"D

Thanks, you! You're always inspiration, you know!

shouldn't you be holding a copy of the "weekly world news" while in that position? It's looking good, i do think it needs a couple more layers of paint to it though to give it a little more depth.

If you don't have drawing chops, no one does.

Thanks, Vince! If you look to the right of the painting, the lower printout is a painting by Gustave Courbet which I saw and thought was funny (I know, I'm a heathen!) and so adopted it for my own use. But yes, "Too Ugly!!" :"D

I've already reworked some things, adding some depth to the shadows and a little to the highlights. I'll post an image later. Thanks so much for commenting!
