Did a -very- quick and dirty attempt at animating Harlon. This is likely to be the next project when Tamino is done. I really haven't done any animation before (well, a little about 25 years ago) so this is a crude first try. Also, I was using Image Ready, which really isn't what one would want to use for web-toons, which is what I want. Still, there it is.

As I expect you already know, the actual animation is rather jumpy and choppy but the movement . . . all I can say is that's EXACTLY the way I picture Harlon moving. The body language is uncanny. He really does work as animation.

Thanks, Max! Yah, this is the wrong program and it needs to be smoother. I'm looking into options for the program even as we speak.

Thanks, Vince. I think Flash is standard, though ToonBoom wants to be. I downloaded Pencil and will take a look at that. Likely, I'll end up with Flash.
Flash is standard for the internet, but toon boom is actually used in real tv shows etc. It has real 2d animation tools while flash is very heavily programmer oriented these days. The latest version of flash has improved that somewhat. It is also vector based, IE: like animating and drawing in illustrator. Still, Some people do very well with flash...

oups one more thought before you tell me to shut up!
Look into Adobe after effects. It has a lot of the same tools for animation as flash and a lot more, plus it's film grade quality. I personally keep playing with the idea of making your fite character in a 3d animation program to see how he moves!
