Some friends of mine asked me to do something that they could hang in their bathroom. They originally wanted me to paint a mural but I have no skills in that kind of thing. Besides, it's just not how I work. So I said I'd do a large print. They have a magnolia tree in their back yard so I thought I'd do that. Haven't shown it to them so I don't know how well it'll go over. Took me a long time to get the approach right. I tried a lot of other styles but none of them really grabbed me. I went back to one of my 'cut paper' portraits and decided to try that. To me, it works. It's bright and colorful, a decorative piece to be sure. Now to see if anyone else likes it.

I did a mural on my bathroom wall years ago, a big Donald Duck and it was a bit hard to figure out. I used acrylic paints mapped out the drawing by printing it sections and transferring that to wall. Not sure I would encourage anyone who doesn’t have all that time to try it! The art looks lovely and i bet looks great as large print. I can’t imagine they wouldn’t love it!
I've done that kind of thing with painting before. It's always hardest lining up the printouts! The clients seemed to like it; they ordered a canvas giclee print of it.
