Worked on this a bit more. Trimmed the edges, added some highlights to the background so that there's a kind of arrow pointing to the fox if you squint. Also added some shadowing to him as well. Moved the fox further into the background, which allowed me to show the whole figure and also pushed him a little further into the composition. Will likely try and have a test print made and see how this looks before utter final.

I spoke to Kelley yesterday but she still has watched the film. I think I had Tony's home # and cell but i never get him there either! This came along much faster than you last image and it's just as detailed unlocks as good if not better. the shading really places him in the scene

I was writing some email to Scott McCloud the other day, he responded so I sent him a link to the movie. He might make a tweet about it. Couldn't hurt. This image DID come about fast. Learning curve; draw it out in pencil and ink it. Takes a LOT less time than building it in AI. Thanks!

I would help a lot I think! I have good news / bad news on the doc now. Good news is they are putting all the films in createspace on video on demand which has a much bigger chance of getting seen. bad news all the films have to be in HD and have captions which will cost me a couple hundred for each of my three films to add. Basically costing me about 800$ total on films that have made 1000$ over the last 10 years... so unless I suddenly start selling them like mad its going to wipe all all the profits of yen years.

Learning curve indeed. AI is supposed to be a time saver!

Sorry to hear that the doc and your other films are hitting that kind of roadblock. Do you HAVE to put them all up at the same time? Maybe just do the Picnic one first as it's the most recent and do the others later?

As for AI, it's not a time saver but I know how to use it. It's been acting more weird since I switched to El Capitan. Can't really blame the OS; it's Adobe not wanting to support their own software.

It was a surprise to be sure. Fifty years is my big seller, or video renter i should say. The picnic could be and should be more popular but neith of us is good at determining that sort of thing! I used AI cs5 last week to trace a logo and it worked fine nut i didnt do more than that. Cs6 cut a ton of tracing options out so i still use 5.

They cut OUT tracing options? Gah. I don't make use of the options often, but sometimes I need or want to. This is why I really don't want to move on. With CC, you don't get to choose if you want the supposed upgrade or not. Trying to learn Affinity which, so far, can do what I need except for the trace. It's just very different in some key ways.

Yup, they only have basic presets and no refining which would have made this logo look like crap! Affinity photo is almost... So close... To replacing photoshop for me. The interface is a little wonky but not bad at all.
In Budapest btw, lost about 50% of my hearing on the flights here and its not coming back so far. Painful as well. We are in a super fancy room in a super fancy hotel which is not my scene.
