Some stuff from the last few days. As Xmas approaches, I've had no time at all for art. Too tired, shifts too long, etc. Managed to eke these out, though and had fun doing them. The multiple styles thing can be a real problem. I get so easily distracted. I'm amazed I ever got any of the comics done. Anyway, before and afters for both.

we need to video chat about your job, I am very curious about it as I almost was hired by them as well. Problem with your multiple styles I think is one not better than than the others, they are all good but different so it's not easy to make any sort of choice. I don't think I realized you had a greyscale stage, like I do for some things.

I can tell you some things about the job but not everything. Not allowed to. :"D As far as retail goes, I've never been treated better. It's still retail. That's the downside. Having a different style for nearly every character is distracting because I -should- be focusing on completing one thing at a time (like Ghiroy). Instead, I get pulled away if in the slightest bit bored. And making new styles is the result of being bored, too. So I never really master any of them. As for the grey stage, that's only with this guy. It was another experiment. All I did was take the greyscale version and add bits of color to the grey. I liked that kind of 'colorized' feel. :"D We should video chat, sometime after the holidays when things have calmed down for both of us.

I am curious to hear about the job, not the secrets but just how it is compared to other retail. We both put in aa lot of time in retail.. you more than me! I love greyscale... never far from my lack and white roots i guess. I am around after the holidays except when I am in boston filming the MYP stuff... still no exact dates!

It's very much NOT other retail. There's a lot good about it and some bad, mostly things that frustrate me. I think the store is very much like Apple's products; a lot of what they do just works really well, but a few niggling things are just odd in how badly they don't work. Dissemination of information is one of the things that's really frustrating me right now. Otherwise, the company as a whole really seems to value its employees, and we're empowered to help the customer. And customers are a LOT better than they were at Barnes and Noble. We'll figure out a time for the video chat. I have to get out the holidays myself. Still busy at the store.

I can't wait to hear how it differs. Speaking of things not working as they should.. my wacom tablet has been a roller coaster ride of pain since yosemite was released. Overtime i think it's fixed it ruins hours of work!
