Can you or would you draw some of your own characters at work? Would Apple somehow own then since you did them at work? Maybe you could get more fans of your own stuff!
I have done some of the boys from Ghiroy here and there but no, they don't own them nor is that a problem. The only time there's a conflict is if I were to write an app while I was employed by Apple. And if they decide they DO want to make something of my drawing at work, I simply won't draw. But I really don't think they want that kind of thing.
Some companies are weird about what you do at work with your talents. Using other people's stuff in promotion etc is a big problem with facebook and some other media companies so I always wonder how everyone handles it. I have had some places "forbid" me to use things I create even in a demo reel which is illegal, I have every right to show my work and they would have to pay a lot more than any of them ever would for me to give that up. I couldn't make my own series with he robot cat of course, but I can show what I've done with him. Now if they wanted to promote your work in ads and pay you for that - that would be great - and a dream of course!
