This is a morning warm up, a quick mock up of the boys adventuring in the forest. Just trying to get a feel for my backgrounds. I received a copy of a collection of UPA cartoons in the mail yesterday and they have indeed been inspiring me (not that this is the first time). I may try some texture on the trees but when I tried it on one, it looked like it was just adding busy lines instead of really adding to the image. I tried really hard not to have anything in this image be the 'proper' color, to force myself to think outside the norm. And it works, I think.
