One more for the day; Andy Warhol. While I don't think the likeness is spot on, I like the image. Got some prints back from the nice giclee people and they look fantastic.
You have been busy! There is a similarity in all these new portraits style-wise, i think. In barcelona I want to the Catalan museum on the mountain and they had a huge medieval collection i found inspriring colour-wise. Lots of deep reds and blues contrasted with browns.
I'm trying specifically to keep in the same style throughout which is harder than it might seem. Been thinking a lot about portraits since watching all those Portrait Artist of the Year shows. Blue/brown is my favorite color combination but red is a color that always pleases and which has been shown to increase the price of paintings at auction.
I think the art I saw sort of backed up my colour palette that is maybe over influenced by my gothic horror fixation. I can 100% believe keeping to one style is harder for you! You are constantly challenging yourself and trying new things! It is as much a plus as a minus in your case... its just how you are as an artist - and a good artist at that!
