Finished everything I needed for the comic and posted it to my Gumroad store tonight. Almost a year to get this done. Got to speed up. I'm pretty happy with the work. And I fear that it will just sit there gathering internet dust. Oh, well. Double edged blade.

Wow this reads so differently as a single piece of art than it does in bits and pieces as you make it. Seeing ti all together REALLY brings it all together. The look and mood of each panel pushes you to the next. You use of perspective in this one set it apart, it doesn't jump out at you but rather pulls you in. I like that a lot!
Thanks. I hoped it would read better when seen all together. That being said, I wonder if it's worth posting anything at all until it's done, or a section's done because the response so far has... well let's just say it's lived up to my expectations.
Promotion is everything, and really hard if not impossible to do on your own. believe me, it has nothing to do with the quality of your work!
I'm just not connected. Whatever it is I'm trying to do, it just doesn't appeal to today's audience. Even Scott McCloud didn't get it. Promotion might be everything, but I see people posting the crappiest, quickest, sketchiest stuff online and getting plenty of attention. This comic I couldn't even give away. Oh well.
I can't tell you how many people I knew got work all the time, in various fields, and openly admitted they were no good at their jobs. They just knew the right people and most people have no concept of what does or doesn't make good art. So much is about who you are and not what you do. It's depressing!
