Two other versions I did in watercolor brushes. I need to learn how to use them better. While I like them, I think I'm still stuck on vector options for final images.

Check out the following two Procreate settings:

Streamline is a setting for each brush definition that smooths out jaggies. Depending on the setting you can get some really interesting smooth but “sticky” lines. You’ll have to play with it to understand what I mean by sticky… gooey might be a better word.

QuickShape takes current stroke and turns it into a SIMPLE vector line, and allows you to modify it before rasterizing it.

Oh wow, I was finally able to leave a comment. The issue was the mobile version of the site… I had to ask for the desktop version. Weird.

Howdy there! Didn't know you even knew about the blog. I know that Procreate can do vector-like settings. For me, it's much easier to do the coloring and finishing as a vector not least of which because I can make the final exported image any DPI I need or want. Mixing the two approaches has been my go-to process for at least 20 years. I also have Affinity Designer for my iPad so I could do nearly everything there. I haven't liked messing with the brush settings on Procreate so much because that's a whole level of understanding beyond what I already do. I just let others make brushes for me. :D Thanks for coming by!
