New brushes for Procreate, a set of watercolor choices, got me to give them a try today. I never really got the hang of watercolor as much as I liked the medium. These feel a LOT how watercolor works to me and I might well make use of them more in the future. There's a lot to explore here, I think.

This reminds me of style I can't quite name... just looks familiar somehow. I am excited you are getting time to experiment with the new brushes in Procreate! I knew you would make good use of them! I started a drawing of the side of a barn just yesterday, then deleted it all because I HATED it and started over agian today. Seeing this made me wonder if I should try a watercolour layer under the ink.

Watercolor is not my usual thing at all. I never seem to get a hold on it. But digitally, I can fix mistakes I can't with real media. And I do like the look of it. So we'll see. Sounds to me like you're experiencing the same thing; the ability to remove something without real repercussions. We all have tons of images that are thrown away. Feels less wasteful when it's digital.

I think you saw my more successful watercolour attempts form 100 years ago. It's time to try and mix my drawing and painting with 3D now I think. The tools are there, I just have to meet them in the middle somewhere. There is a lot less waste with digital and the ability to just delete the image you hate forever without having to rip it into peices or something. I need to ut a matte covering onhte iPad as well, I found having one did cut the colour a little but it also made it feel so much more like drawing on paper and I think the apple pencil sliding over the glass is distracting.
