Managed to sneak in the body, at least the first cut. I think I want to do a little something more with the background but so far, I'm pretty happy with the way it's going. It gives the feeling I want. We'll see. It felt good to be making again.

That is def him! Good job so far! So good to see new work! I wouldnt get too bent out of shape by AI. People are getting tired of it already and you can still do work the way way you like. I might have to eventually get some form of it into my paid work flow but so far, except for my phto restoration where i need to enlarge tiny photos enough to retouch them, i dont see a need. If AI could rig my 3D characters i could see using it for that as it would save me from doing the grunt work that slows done my animated project. Even then, i am getting more into 2D animation again I think!

AI isn't something people are getting tired of at all. The absolute worst part about AI is that a lot of people can't tell the difference and those that can mostly don't care enough one way or another. They want 'cool images,' and they don't care where they came from. Worst of all, it's going to supplant so many creative folks just so corporate management doesn't have to deal with pesky 'talent' anymore. We will start to see full animated movies, full scripts, songs, video games made by AI. At first, they won't be great but the savings will make the corporations pursue it. I won't touch AI. There are still a lot of folks out there making their own things with skills they've developed over years of work. I'll continue to watch and be a part of them.

This sounds exactly the same as when computers started to be used for everything. People DID lose jobs and things did change and physical media is now niche in some ways. The big difference for me is computers gave people a different way, a more efficient and less wasteful way to be creative and AI just takes the creative right out of it. It's mostly used to get data from people in a sneaky way at this point. It will have its uses in effects work I'm sure which is a very technical field and it's already writing code and making games but as you said very limited games which are all very much alike, much like the images being produced. It's going to take the place of stock art and photos I'm sure. it's still just a tool... except that generative part is going to get faster and better and be "good enough" for people who want original art done who won't or can't pay for it or do it themselves. I used to make a good part of my money designing websites but it didn't take AI to make that go away. My level of clients use template sites now and have over the last 20 years. I still make my own site. AI can never replace your work, it can never even get close! It's too wild and too personal and personal is what in the end many people want from art and film. People that want something specific and not generic will still need real people to produce stuff for a while to come. One of the many reasons I left instagram was seeing far too many people posting Midjourney renders as "their" art. I see that on flickr now as well. I watched a video from a photographer restoring family photos and he used AI to do it and then stopped because he realized the photos of his grandmother looked amazing...but no longer looked like her. They were sharp clear images of a stranger. He did not want the future to lose her actual face in one generation to generative AI. So I guess Im more resigned to idea it already here and going to shake everything up but also maybe foolishly optimistic that it will end up as tools for the stuff it's good for that can't be done otherwise and "artisanal" works will maybe be held in higher regard in the end. Wow! What a rant that was!
