Just some elf practice as I haven't been able to draw anything for days. The lines around the outside give the images a kind of finished 'slickness' which I've decided I like. It will also help separate the character from eventual backgrounds. I wonder if people would have trouble considering this -drawing-. I mean, it is but it's kind of not, too.

this looks better than the last one, you are on to something really good here i think. Who would consider it not a drawing and why would you listen to them? I understand what you mean, I had a teacher in high school that thought anything taken from a photo, even a photo you composed and took was not drawing.. somehow. Her personal art as 100% abstract and said nothing to me but I would never say it wasn't art.

Thanks, as always! As for the not drawing part, I just wonder what people think when they look at something like this and there's no obvious sign of a 'hand' here. There's nothing trying to disguise that this is totally digital. That being said, I pencil these things out ahead of time so there IS drawing involved, with actual pencil, paper and all that! :"D Since I'm plotting points and connecting with curves, it's not really drawing but tracing OF a drawing. Likely I'm worried about nothing.

Man people don't even call my drawings, drawings... including my husband who calls them photos even though he can see I sit there for hours with a pen making 100s of 1000s of little dots and lines to make them. If images on a cave wall, paper bag, etched in metal etc are drawings then I don't see any reason to think my aren't either. I wouldn't even say digital painting since I don't even use vital painting tools to make them. but what do i know? I am sort of dumb afterall in general. I curtailing see you "and" in these.. without a doubt. Don't worry about it! :)
